River Turns on Like A Light Switch

Coho & Chinook Running

Fishing Report Sept 13 2014

Greetings from the Stamp River in the Alberni Valley

Both the Chinook and Coho have started to run hard this week.  The fishing turned on like a light switch with one day not a fish running and last three with 100's moving through every morning.
The encounter rate has been high on both the fly and gear.

Although the river is low, the flows are being managed out of Elsie Lake to allow for fish migration to occur at its normal pace. With rain in the forecast the fish will sense the low approaching and likely continue to migrate upstream.

Some fish from the last two days with guest Peter Binaski. Their group of three anglers had hook ups in the double digits.
