Crew Employment


This agreement is made and takes effect on the employment start date as agreed upon with Stamp Pacific Sportfishing or Kyuquot Sound Adventures a Private corporation doing business as Murphy Sportfishing, hereafter called "Company" and (employee), hereafter called "Employee".

1. The Company hereby employs Employee for a term commencing on the first date of employment as agreed upon with the employer and Employee hereby accepts such employment ending no earlier than Sept 2 2025 in Kyuquot.

2. During the Employee's employment he/she will:

  • Devote such time and effort as may be reasonably required by the Company to perform his/her duties.
  • Not engage in any other employment or business activity without the Company's written consent.
  • Perform such duties as may reasonably be requires of him/her by the Company.
  • Arrive to, perform and complete work shifts in a state of sobriety free from the use of drugs and alcohol. This also includes abstinence from drugs and alcohol use while on health or meal breaks.

3.) During the Employee's employment, the Company shall provide the Employee at no charge, no set offs from pay or expense:

  • Accommodation and Meals
  • Internet Access - The Employee is aware that internet is Satellite based and is occasionally subject to down time and limited availability due to the nature of Satellite service such as weather, storms, bandwidth availability.
  • Telephone Use at Main Lodge

4.) For services rendered by the Employee, the Company shall pay as follows:

  • Bi Weekly via direct deposit to employee bank account
  • Submit Employee deductions to the Canada Revenue Agency on behalf of Employee along with Employer contributions.
  • Provide Pay Slips to Employee bi weekly via email
  • Provide Record of Employment via email within 10 days of end of Season and transmit such electronically to the Canada Revenue Agency

5.) Employee understands that he/she will acquire confidential information of business value to the Company during the course of his/her employment. Employee hereby agrees not to divulge such confidential information to any other party, or to use such information for his/her own profit except in performance of employment activities beneficial to and under the direction of the Company.

6. This agreement is an employment-at-will agreement. The Company may, at any time, with or without cause, discharge the Employee by giving him/her written notice of such discharge.

7. Employee's employment shall terminate upon his/her death; inability or failure to perform the duties required.

8. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Company and Employee.

9. This agreement shall be interpreted and, if necessary, adjudicated in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada including:

  • As a seasonal employee for a definite term and are aware of the exact date of completion at the time they commence employment; Section 63 of the Employee standards act does not apply, and The Company is not required to provide termination notice (or wages in lieu thereof) to seasonal employees.
  • As a seasonal employees there should be no expectation of continued or renewed employment in subsequent seasons.We do however hope for a long term relationship with all our team members.
  • Section 7, part 4 - 34  of the Employee Standards Regulation excludes fishing and hunting lodges from overtime and statutory holiday pay requirements. This is because of short duration of the season and the opportunity for significant income along with the remote nature of the employment.
10. Until written notice of other address(es) are exchanged between the parties, all notices legally required shall be deemed delivered in writing in person.
